What Types of Academic Accommodations May be Approved?
There is no general access plan that is appropriate for all students or for a particular disability. Students may require different academic accommodations in different courses. The most appropriate plan provides equal access coupled with consideration of the disability and documentation, student preferences, program, faculty, and institutional requirements for a particular course, and applicable laws. Academic accommodations may include, but are not limited to:
Testing Accommodations
- Reduced distraction test taking environment
- Extended time
- Use of a computer for written responses
- Reader or text-to-speech program
- Use of a calculator
- Use of a closed-circuit television (CCTV)
- Screen reading software program
- Screen magnification software program
- Tests printed in large font

- Closed captioning for course videos
- Notification of emergency evacuation assistance
