SUMMER ACADEMIC SUPPORT
ThinkingStorm-Free 24/7 Online Tutoring
Purchase students have access to virtual professional tutors online 24/7 via ThinkingStorm including during summer and winter months when campus tutoring offices are closed.
ThinkingStorm is an online tutoring platform utilized by many colleges. It provides 24/7 access to professional tutors online for many subject areas from STEM, to Economics, and Writing in all disciplines, and offers support for some classes in Spanish.
Please note that the Einstein Corner Tutors are not available during summer session or during final exams, so please consider utilizing ThinkingStorm during this time.
Students can make an appointment by accessing ThinkingStorm tutoring services in the Navbar at the top of their Purchase Brightspace page.
Learning Center Tutoring-Reopens Fall 2026
The Learning Center offers a comprehensive system of support during the fall and spring academic terms, ranging from help in a specific course to detailed instruction in writing and study skills. The primary modes of support are peer-based individual and group tutoring.
Students may schedule a maximum of one 45-minute appointment per day and up to three 45-minute appointments per week, in any combination of in-person or virtual sessions and Online Writing Lab (OWL) submissions. OWLs allow students to email a written assignment to a tutor who will return your paper with written feedback asynchronously.
Peer Tutors
There are 19 Purchase College Peer Tutors in the Learning Center available for virtual or in-person appointments.
We are a CRLA Certified Tutoring Program. Tutors go through 10-hours of training and receive a Certificate for their hard work.
