Cornerstone Connect
Note: For Fall 2022, Cornerstone Connect is currently at capacity and has moved to a wait list. The Office of Disability Resources is processing applications and will wait list students with completed applications on a first come first served basis.
Cornerstone Connect provides students executive functioning support to assist in their transition to Purchase College.
This fee-based service offers full-time matriculated students resources, strategies, and assistive technologies to enhance their learning experience.
Fee-Based Coaching
Individual Coaching with Learning Specialist
Students will be assigned to work with a Learning Specialist in the coaching service (under ODR supervision) along one of two tracks.
Track 1: Meets 1x a week for 45-minute coaching or
Track 2: Meets 2x a week for 45-minute coaching
While engaged in coaching, students will work with a trained learning specialist to articulate 2-3 goals in areas of interest or need as they pertain to academic, personal, and/or career preparation.
Additional Opportunities
Social Skills Support Group
ODR will offer a weekly group to any student wishing to build upon their executive functioning skills. Opening the group will expand the population in which students will engage with their peers.
Sponsored Social Events
Students attending the weekly groups will partner with ODR to plan social events, based on student interest.
Application Process
An application to Cornerstone Connect is considered complete and will only be accepted if the student has submitted the following information by December 1 for entry in the spring semester, or May 1 for entry in the Fall semester. Admission to Purchase College does not guarantee admission to Cornerstone Connect.
In an effort to maintain the integrity of our services and to provide quality support, our capacity will be limited. Once all spaces have been filled, we will move to a waitlist. All applications are reviewed on a first come, first served rolling basis.
- Submit the Cornerstone Connect Application
- Download the below Recommendation Form and ask two individuals to submit a recommendation on your behalf. These recommendations can be uploaded within the application above, or if your references prefer to provide the completed form to us directly, they are welcome to submit through e-mail at cornerstone@purchase.edu. Please note that your application will not be processed until both recommendation forms are received, in addition to your completed application.
Once completed applications are reviewed by Program Staff, selected students will be invited to participate in an in-person interview.
