Federal regulations, State laws and/or campus policy require that all employees participate in mandatory compliance trainings provided in person or online covering a variety of topics from Security Awareness to Accessibility to Workplace Violence Prevention and Sexual Harassment Prevention training. In addition, the College also conducts training on Diversity Equity and Inclusion, on College Policies, and on College systems such as HRETS, PETs, and our Website Content Management System.

This training makes use of two online platforms, Ever-Fi and KnowBe4. Some training programs were delivered in person before the pandemic. With good online training platforms and the shift to online everything over the last 2 years, coordinating annual training across units was identified as a Goal in the HR and CTS Work Plans. A new working group with CTS, HR, Chief Diversity Officer, Internal Control Officer, Purchasing Director and others has been formed to begin coordinating our training programs and schedule for 2022-23.

Your attention to completing the training programs you are enrolled in is important to overall college operations and to a culture of continuous improvement.

It is also critical for compliance. Right now SUNY is conducting an audit of security awareness training program effectiveness, participation, and outcomes – and asked for detailed reports on compliance.

Please do your part to complete any training that you are enrolled in this fall, and provide us with feedback that can be used to improve the College’s employee training efforts.

Optional Training Offered by CTS

CTS offers one-on-one and group training for Zoom, Teams, SharePoint and More! Go to Tips & Training to schedule an appointment. We also offer Zoom Large Meeting and Webinar training!

Zoom: Use for remote classes. CTS can assist with general use questions such as creating class Zoom meetings, adding to Moodle, and assisting with security settings to prevent Zoom bombing.

Zoom Large Meeting: Same as a Zoom meeting, but it increases the participant capacity to 500. There is only one seat available so please request in advance via work request.

Zoom Webinar: Webinars are designed so that the host and any designated panelists can share their video, audio and screen with view-only attendees. Attendees are muted but have the ability to interact via Q&A and answering polling questions. The host can also unmute the attendees. Our webinar seat (we have only one) can accommodate 1,000 attendees. CTS will go over these with you once you sign up for a mandatory Webinar set up and training session.

Microsoft Teams: Teams is a web-based service that enables file and data collaboration, instant messaging, audio and video calling, rich online meetings, mobile experiences, and extensive web conferencing capabilities.

SharePoint: SharePoint is a web-based secure place to store files, organize, share, and access information from any device.

Lyterati: Lyterati is an electronic storage system that allows faculty members to record their accomplishments in the areas of research, teaching and service and is used for generating faculty Professional Activity Reports.

SelectSurvey: Used to create simple or more complex surveys that require login with Purchase credentials. Also easy access to survey results for analysis.

HRETS - Human Resources Employee Tracking System: Used to create hiring PAF (Personnel Action Form) or P-Dash (non-State employee Person Data Record) paperwork for hiring, view PAF, view Performance Evaluation, create and view Telecommuting (Work from Home) form for remote work.

NTT - Non-Tenure Track Faculty Online Evaluation Form: Used to create non-tenure track evaluation for faculty. Board of Study Chair, Department Director, Provost provide evaluation and contract recommendation. Faculty members can view evaluation and approve or rebut.
