What is D2L Brightspace and how do I login?
Brightspace by D2L is SUNY Purchase’s learning management system (LMS).
Directions for how to login to and access the SUNY Purchase tenant of Brightspace can be found below.
Login to SUNY Purchase Brightspace
- Go to https://brightspace.purchase.edu
- Login with your Purchase username and password.
- Do not include “@purchase.edu” in your username.
- If needed, reset your password.
- Follow the prompts to complete the login process using Multi-Factor Authentication.
- Get Microsoft Authenticator for your iOS or Android device.

- You will be brought to https://mylearning.suny.edu/d2l/home/219851, which is Purchase’s tenant of the larger SUNY Brightspace instance.
Access Your Courses
To access your courses in Brightspace, look for the relevant semester within the “My Courses” widget.

Please review the information in the “Account Check” widget to make sure that Purchase is set as your primary campus affiliation and that Brightspace is using your Purchase email address to communicate with you.
Brightspace Orientations for Students and Faculty
- Students can access the Brightspace Student Orientation for an introduction to the Brightspace platform
- Faculty can access the SUNY DLE Brightspace Fundamentals Asynchronous Modules for basic Brightspace training
Help with Accessing Brightspace
- If you need to activate your Purchase user account or reset your password, you can do so at the Purchase Online Account Activation/Password Reset site.
- Make sure you have the Microsoft Authenticator app downloaded to your device and that you have followed the steps at the Microsoft Authenticator Multi-factor Authentication guide.
- If you cannot login to Brightspace or need assistance with Microsoft Authenticator, please contact CTS / create a work order with CTS.
