Due to COVID-19 our staff is working remotely, and the office is closed to all walk-in visitors for the foreseeable future.

Additionally, due to the restrictions on international travel, Purchase College’s summer study abroad programs have all been postponed until summer 2021.

The Office of International Programs and Services (OIPS) is committed to assisting Purchase College in educating successful global citizens.

Whether you are a current international student on our campus, or you are looking to have your first international experience through a study abroad program, the Office of International Programs and Services is here to help!

We introduce current students to the many study abroad and study away opportunities available, and we help international students get to know each other and our campus during International Orientation.

We also host the annual Global Festival at Purchase College as a way to bring together art and culture from around the world right here on our campus.

Professors Receive Grant for Innovative Study Abroad Program

The SUNY Chancellor has awarded Assistant Professor of Liberal Studies Ragnhild Utheim and Distinguished Professor of Sociology and Gender Studies Lisa Jean Moore a grant for creating a study abroad opportunity that addresses climate change.
Zianni Orange ’22 receives Gilman Scholarship Award

Zianni Orange, a sophomore at Purchase College, has recently been awarded a Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship to study abroad in the Fall 2020 semester.

Orientation Event: Mobilizing for a Sustainable Future

Time: 2:00pm—4:30pm

In this dynamic and interactive live orientation session (via Zoom), the Office of International Programs and the Sustainability Office team up as part of a brand new initiative to bring like-minded incoming students together to discuss pressing world issues such as equality, justice, health, hunger, and the environment.

Echoing the words of the UNDP (United Nations Development Program), this event is based on the premise that everyone can have enough of what they need while living within our planetary boundaries, and is an expression of Purchase’s commitment to working at home and around the world to make this happen.

Using the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a lens, students will:
- learn about current initiatives and clubs on campus related to the SDGs
- meet faculty, staff, and returning Purchase students who are passionate about these issues
- connect with peers that have similar interests
- find out how to get involved on campus

Small group virtual breakout rooms will allow students to focus on one SDG topic area they feel most passionate about while also learning about Purchase College, and possibly making lifelong friends along the way! Join us to debate, discuss, and take action.
