Explore Program Types
If you are looking to take courses abroad that apply to your major, search our full list of Purchase programs to see where and when you can take what you need.
In these short-term programs, open to all SUNY students, which range from 3-5 weeks, a group of 10-25 students live, learn, and travel together while taking 3 to 8 SUNY credits taught by a Purchase Faculty member.
In these semester-long and academic-year programs, open only to Purchase students, participants enroll directly at one of Purchase’s partner universities taking at least 12 credits while being fully immersed in life on a new campus in a foreign city.
If you aren’t able to find a Purchase program that fits your interests or needs, as a SUNY student you have access to over 600 programs offered across 64 SUNY campuses. The SUNY search page lets you filter by country, academic focus, term and program type.
Due to the cancellation of study abroad opportunities in the Spring and Summer 2021 semesters, virtual global learning opportunities are now available to SUNY students looking for an online international experience during the upcoming terms.

The P.A.S.T. program, which takes place during Purchase spring break, offers the opportunity for students to both travel outside of New York and serve in a community of need. This alternative break is a unique experience that allows participants to immerse themselves in a different culture while performing meaningful community service.
The Transnational Filmmaking Project is a partnership with the Institut Supérieur des Métiers de l’Audiovisuel (ISMA) in Cotonou, Benin and the Artists Institute in Jacmel, Haiti. The project challenges students from three countries and film schools to explore the potential of filmmaking as a collaborative creative process across cultures.
Just because you are graduating, it doesn’t mean you can’t keep exploring the world! Purchase can support you in applying to opportunities such as Fulbright and JET, among others.
