2) Be registered for the study abroad credits (for semester long programs, you will need to drop the Purchase classes you registered for)
3) Pay your Purchase bill
After you have completed these steps, you will automatically be enrolled in UHC.
Once you have been enrolled* in the SUNY insurance, you will receive an email, which looks like this, from notifications@uhcsr.com that an ID card is available for you. It will also provide instructions from UHC to register and access your account. Please do this as soon as possible, as there is much valuable information available on the website. To view, download or request a hard copy ID Card, please visit: https://myaccount.uhcsr.com/. Your health insurance ID card can be printed, which is your proof of coverage.
*Please note that UHC becomes effective once you are abroad. It does not cover any medical expenses in the U.S. To avoid any gaps in coverage, make sure you are covered by your current domestic health insurance until your date of departure from the U.S.
While Abroad
1) When in need of medical attention, email assistance@uhcglobal.com, telling them your full name, address and what your need is.
2) UHC will provide the location of the nearest provider that meets their standard of care.
3) UHC will call the provider and pre-pay them for the visit
4) Show your insurance ID card at the doctor’s office.
If payment is not arranged at the time of service via UHC Global and/or you have paid out of pocket:
1) Email all claim information to si.drg@uhcsr.com, including the proof of payment.
