Classroom and Computer Lab Technology Use Guidelines
To ensure equipment remains in good working order and available for all users, please follow these guidelines when using classroom and computer lab technology:
-
Power Off Projector – Turn off the projector by pressing the “OFF” tab which is next to the “ON” tab.
-
No Food or Drink at the Podium – Keep all beverages and snacks away from podiums, control panels, and equipment – and clean up after yourself before leaving the room.
-
Volume Control – Adjust audio to a comfortable level. Avoid setting the volume excessively high to prevent damage to speakers.
-
Do Not Remove or Swap Cables – All cords, adapters, and connections must remain in place. If something appears damaged or missing, report it instead of attempting to fix it yourself.
-
Use Equipment Only as Intended – Do not install software or alter settings. Personal laptops are permitted, and AV cables are provided for their use.
-
Log Out of Purchase College Accounts – Be sure to log out of your Purchase College account before you leave the room.
-
Report Issues Promptly – Notify CTS by using the phone inside the podium or the designated support contact immediately if you notice a malfunction, damage, or missing equipment.
-
Handle Equipment Gently – Use the control panel, keyboard, mouse, and touch screens carefully. Avoid pressing buttons forcefully or moving equipment unnecessarily.
