How do I add my syllabus to my Brightspace course?
The TLTC recommends that instructors use the “Create a File (Web Page)” option within Brightspace to add your syllabus to your course.
- At your desired course, click “Upload / Create”
- Click “Create a File (Web Page)”
- Enter a title for the page in the “Enter a Title” field.
Note: It is beneficial to use unique titles for all topics/items that you create/add in Brightspace. - (optional) Click on the “Select Document Template” button to choose a document template from the available options.
- Add the page contents to the editing field.
- Use the Brightspace HTML Editor to:
- “Insert Stuff” (e.g. external links, images, videos)
- “Insert Quicklinks” to quickly point to content already available in your course (e.g. assignments, discussions, files),
- Ensure your syllabus is accessible by using the Brightspace Accessibility Checker.
- Click the “Save and Close” button
