Get started by paying your enrollment deposit in MyHeliotrope, then follow the steps below.
Why It’s The First Step
You must activate your Purchase email account to:
- Pay your deposits
- Check your Degree Progress Report (DPR) for transfer credits
- View your financial aid package

Receive official communications from Purchase College
How to Activate
Activate your account here: Online Account Activation
- Select “Activate your account for the first time”
- Agree to the terms
- Enter the email address you used on your application and your date of birth and click “Submit”
- Then “Create Your Password” to activate your account
Send all AP scores from College Board to Purchase College. Our college code is 2878.
Send official college transcripts with final grades from each college you attended. Request that official transcripts be emailed directly to the Registrar’s Office at registrar@purchase.edu. Or request the transcripts to be mailed to the address below. Unfortunately, email attachments from the student are considered unofficial and cannot be used to evaluate credits.

Departments Prepare Your Schedule
If you’re a first-year student in the School of Art+Design, or the Conservatory of Music, you will be registered for required classes by your departments, and there is no need to schedule a meeting with an advisor.

Prepare for your Advising Appointment

Review the academic requirements for your major. Go to Academics, select your major, then click on “Requirements” from the right sidebar.

Watch the short video that will teach you How to Use the Course Search.

Login to MyHeliotrope to review your Degree Progress Report to see how your transfer credits are being applied to your new degree program and to understand your remaining degree requirements.

Use the Course Search to prepare a list of open and available courses that satisfy your academic interests and degree requirements that you can review during your advising appointment.
- Prepare a list of questions to ask during your advising appointment. You must communicate with an advisor in order to register for classes.
Students Entering BA/BS programs in the Liberal Arts and Sciences ONLY
Schedule an appointment via Zoom, in person, or by phone to discuss your academic plan with a member of the Advising Center using our online calendar in Starfish. For Zoom and phone appointments, please try to be in a distraction-free space and have access to a tablet or computer.
Starfish is our student success portal and a great way to stay in touch with your advisor and faculty and support staff on campus.
