Jade Gabrielle-Amanda Watts

Jade is a Communications major, double minoring in Political Science and Gender Studies. Jade will be presenting their senior project, titled “It’s Just a Feeling: Exploring the Queer Liberation Movement Through the Televisual Archive.” In their paper, Jade examines the use of affect in two different forms of queer televisual media: public access show Forward and Out and YouTube series Maddy in the Morning. Using these resources, Jade details how each encourages specific emotional reactions from the viewer and calls to action toward queer liberation.
