Moodle Availability Update - Spring 2025
The Moodle Archives server will be taken offline soon (Fall 2025 semester). Now is the time to review your previous courses in Moodle and save any remaining course materials that you want to keep.
Moodle Will Soon Be Unavailable to Access from On- or Off-campus
Purchase is now in our second full year of using Brightspace. Campus Technology Service (CTS) will soon begin the process of taking down our Moodle Archives server.
Currently, Moodle is only available to faculty and staff who are connected to the Purchase College network, either by physically being on campus or remotely via OpenVPN. Once the Moodle Archives server is taken offline, it will not be available.
Now is the time to take a look at your previous courses in Moodle and save any remaining course materials that you want to keep.
Please login to Moodle to review your previous courses and if needed, create Moodle course backups and/or save any individual materials that you want to continue to use in future Brightspace courses.
Separate from Moodle course exports, if you want easy access to any grades from past Moodle courses, you should export the gradebooks for those courses so you can save them as Excel spreadsheets.
Once Moodle is taken offline by CTS, it will not be readily available to access.
Moving Courses From Moodle to Brightspace
Moving your courses from Moodle to Brightspace is easy! You have a few options available depending on what you’d like to accomplish which are outlined at the TLTC’s website.
