backstory50: The Friends of the Neuberger Museum of Art

One the best things about the Neuberger Museum of Art are the people who make up our community. And among the ‘best of the best’ are the leaders who have, for so long now, been a part of our amazing support and advisory group, the Friends of the Neuberger Museum of Art.

Logo for the 50th Anniversary of the Friends of the Neuberger Museum of Art. Founded in 1972, the Friends makes us better than we ever could be without them. Maybe some of you were able to attend their big birthday party a couple of years ago where so many current and former Friends were in attendance; it was a great reunion and celebration of all that the Friends have done for the Museum. To honor their 50th anniversary, we created a special exhibition to commemorate one very important aspect of the work of the Friends organization—its support of our growing collection.

Paul Zukowsky, Chair of the Board of the Friends of the Neuberger Museum of Art Today’s NEU 50th anniversary thank-you goes to Paul Zukowsky for his generous contribution in support of the Museum on the occasion of our anniversary and for his transformative leadership of the Friends Board. Now in his second term as chair, Paul has worked hard to bring new people into our fold. His passion for all that we do at the NEU manifests not only in his enthusiasm, but also in his and his partner, Ava’s, support of Purchase College students and their work here at the Museum.
