Energy Efficient Lighting Project Reduces Greenhouse Gas Emissions
The New York Power Authority (NYPA), in partnership with the SUNY, has completed the installation of energy-efficient LED lighting throughout the Purchase campus, including outdoor street lighting and in several buildings. -
Purchase’s Innovative Thermal Energy Storage Project
The Phys.Ed. building will be the site for a new combined heat and power project funded by Israel-US Binational International Research & Development Foundation, NYPA and Brenmiller of Israel -
Purchase Joins Renewable Energy Consortium
Purchase College joins 19 New York colleges and universities to purchase large-scale aggregated renewable energy.

- Get involved with students organizations such as Green Fee Council, FreeNew, FreeStore, and The Rocket Compost, among others.

What Else We’re Doing
- The Wayback Residence Hall, completed in August 2019, received its official LEED Silver Certification.
- Purchase is addressing the campus’ aging electrical systems.
- The Purchase Physical Education building will be the site for a combined heat and power (CHP) demonstration project.
- Purchase hosted the 2019 Partners for International Research and Education (PIRE) Academy that supports international partnerships that address critical science and engineering problems in a global context.
