Fernando Coronado

Fernando Coronado is a senior English and Global Literatures major. He will be presenting his senior project, “The Masculine Urge to Isolate.” In it, he uncovers how masculine identity has been attached to patriarchy and hegemonic masculinity, which leads men to isolate themselves in society. In two mid-20th century novels he sees how this isolation plays out, but also how the novels might offer lessons for modern men to learn how to become loving, vulnerable, and connected with the people around them.
