Uri Sarig
Uri Sarig is an Art History major. He will be presenting his senior project titled “Fetishization & Subjugation: Colonized Craft in America.” Throughout his undergraduate studies, Uri has been interested in the role that art and craft have in forming our cultural understandings of the “other.” This research project explores nuanced issues regarding the consumption of indigenous American cultural craft, its display in museums, and the ways “nativeness” has been appropriated by non-Indian art and intellectual movements.
