Pamela E. Dzielak

Pamela E. Dzielak is a Philosophy Major. She will be presenting her senior project, titled, Generational Ignorance in the United States: An Inquiry into Race and Racism in America’s Public Middle Schools and High Schools. The central question this thesis asks is: why are we failing to empower school curricula in middle schools and high schools with the truth about race and racism in the United States? In this paper I argue that much of the history taught on race and racism in the United States is curated to promote white supremacy. That is to mean that part of the answer to my question is, that there is an intentional whitewashing of history, which serves white interests by assuring that white supremacy remains undisturbed.
