René Garrett ’22

Omari René Garrett (René) is a student and educator from Detroit. A student of Media Studies, Anthropology, and Art History, their scholarship engages Black Sexuality Studies, Medical Anthropology, and technology studies. René’s scholarship centers around building robust, current accounts of Black sexuality, online and offline, for epidemiological engagement with Black sexual cultures. They are a student senator, a Stood Center coordinator, and foil fencer on the classical fencing team.
