I was drawn immediately to Rufino Tamayo’s Torse de jeune fille because of the beautiful feminine imagery. Tamayo’s experience of working extensively in Paris, New York as well as being of Mexican origin makes this work all the more interesting, it incorporates a more global interpretation of feminine sexuality and makes one think about how femininity is portrayed in art throughout the world.
