Corinne Santiago

Lecturer in Writing

In 2015, Corinne graduated from SUNY Purchase with her bachelor’s degree in journalism. With the goal of returning to Purchase with an MFA in order to teach, she went on to get her Master of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in Creative Nonfiction Writing from Sarah Lawrence College in 2019.

She previously worked for where she supplied content and moderated message boards. In addition to that, The Academy of American Poets published her work for winning the 2018 John B Santoianni Award for Excellence in Poetry.  As an intern with the American Association of University Women, she was featured in their monthly newsletters.

Her undergraduate senior project is titled Escape from Home:  LGBT Seeking Asylum in the U.S. and her master’s thesis, a series of personal essays, My Embodied Cognition.
