Porochista Khakpour

Porochista Khakpour is the author of two novels and a forthcoming memoir, Sick. Her debut novel, Sons and Other Flammable Objects (2007), was a New York Times “Editor’s Choice” and won the 2007 California Book Award. Her second novel, The Last Illusion (2014), was chosen as one of the best books of the year by NPR, Electric Literature, Kirkus, PopMatters, and others. She has taught at Bard College and Johns Hopkins, among many places, and is a literary criticism columnist for VQR. She lives in Harlem.
