backstory50: Activating Our Cultural Legacies
One of the transformational relationships we have built over the last several years has been with The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, which saw the need for the Neuberger to be able to document and preserve its own history.
Thanks to the generous support from Mellon, we hired our first archivist to help us sort and preserve our rich history related to our collections, exhibitions, and programs into an architecture of information from which we can draw and into which we can add.
Today’s 50th anniversary thank-you goes to my partners in this effort… Alison Gilchrest, our former Program Officer at Mellon, who believed in us from the very beginning, and Deborah Cullen-Morales, our current Program Officer at Mellon, for continuing to believe in us and for expanding on the work we are doing together.
And to Museum archivist Samantha (Sam) Bogner, and her team of student interns, who have captured so many of the stories that we have been sharing with you during this year of celebration. Read more from Sam here.
