backstory: Our 50th Anniversary

The team has been working hard to prepare an exciting, multimedia exhibition that was inspired by our very first exhibition: The Making of a Museum: 1. We were clever with our title and called the new exhibition: The Making of a Museum: 50 Years.

Beginning in January in this backstory blog we will share a new story each week about the history of the Museum from its founding in 1969 to the present day. We’ll host several social events for our members, friends, neighbors, and supporters in the spring and artist talks, lectures, and other programs throughout the year.

There will be a lot going on, so we created a new webpage where you can find all the latest updates about our anniversary stories, exhibitions, and events. And (drumroll, please …) watch for the NEU anniversary logo as it pops up everywhere during 2024. We hope you love it as much as we do.
