Visual Arts Darkroom Suite Renovation
Making much needed repairs and updating to our Darkroom.
Project Update as of April 27, 2026
Our contractor, B & B Contracting Group has completed their work for now. We have new stainless-steel sinks ordered, but will not be able to install them until this summer. Now that our students are actively using the spaces, we have some additional upgrades planned for this coming summer as well.
Project Overview
As part of the first phase of mechanical ventilation upgrades, we recently completed in the Visual Arts building, we temporarily moved the existing Darkroom suite, located in the basement of VA, over to the old Bookstore space. This has given us the opportunity to do some much need overhauling of the existing basement spaces.
Project Scope
The project will include the full renovation of the existing Darkroom Suite. The project will include removal of the old and outdated spaces including most of the walls, ceilings, plumbing fixtures, lighting, and electrical systems, giving us a clean pallet to work with. The new revitalized spaces will include a more open concept plan, new darkroom, large format film development, new classroom/gallery space, and updated lighting, electrical and plumbing throughout. The suite will also be fully ADA accessible.
