backstory: Snow-covered treats

It’s sometimes hard to remember what our outdoor sculpture collection looks like when it snows, because it doesn’t really snow any more around here.

But yesterday and today have been a treat. The objects are built to weather the elements and they look so different with clingy wet blobs of white covering them, falling off them, dripping. It highlights for me the difference between work displayed outside and work displayed in the pristine spaces of the galleries. If you’re nearby, come see these objects before everything melts away. And if not here, anywhere you can find outdoor sculpture when there’s snow out there is a rush to see, in my mind. Go. Hurry. Before the snow is all gone again.
