backstory: Thanks to those who missed me!

OK, I know, I know… I disappeared. I’m sorry. But I’m back!

First, I’m completely mystified by how cold it got here so fast. You too?

Then, here’s what I want to share with you today because it’s really great. I’ve mentioned here before that objects from our collection travel all over the world as we are asked to participate in projects organized by our colleagues at other museums. Well, several of our Milton Avery paintings are on the road right now, in a big traveling Avery show currently on view in London at the Royal Academy. In fact, we are the largest institutional lender to the project.

The Art Newspaper just featured that show in their “The Big Review” section and gave us a great shout out by using one of our works, Little Fox River (1942), to illustrate the article. I love, also, how, at the bottom of the review, they provided prior reviews of the show as it was traveling. [Read the review]
