backstory: Billiard Players
Today we unveiled a new exhibition of works by David Smith that focuses on one of the artist’s favorite artistic subject matters and pastimes: billiards.
The project, curated by the Neuberger’s Jacqueline Shilkoff, is one of my favorite types of shows—a narrow, in-depth look at one important aspect of an artist’s career. We are grateful to the Estate of David Smith for their collaboration on this project. I hope you will get to come and see the show soon. David Smith: Billiard Players is on view through February 20, 2022.
