backstory: Huh?
Sometimes, even now so many years later, I occasionally come across an object in our collection that I’ve never seen before….
So there I was… looking for a print to include in a project I’m curating (more about that later)… and there he was… stodgy, white-wigged, dressed in brown, serious face. What is that? I climbed one of the ladders we use to get up high in our art storage area and looked at the tag. WHAT? Thomas Gainsborough. Huh? How can that be and how can it be that we own a Gainsborough and how can it be that I didn’t know. Sure enough, it came into the collection not long after we were founded. Don’t know who he is? That’s OK. Google him.
I love my job. And I know how lucky I am that I do.
