Yaseen Lectures on the Fine Arts

Every two years the Yaseen Lectures on the Fine Arts brings well known scholars and artists to the Neuberger Museum and Purchase College to discuss their work and contemporary ideas and issues. Tomorrow is our next talk in the series.

Conceptual artist Hank Willis Thomas will join us virtually to describe how he blends art and activism. Hank and Eric Gottesman, one of our faculty in the Purchase School of Art+Design, co-founded For Freedoms, an artist collective that we are working with on the Connective Collective project this year.

The lectures are endowed by a gift from the late Leonard C. Yaseen and his wife Helen, who were residents of Larchmont. The Yaseens financed a similar series at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The New York Community Trust has been working with us for many years to provide support for the series. We’ve welcomed Claes Oldenburg, Maya Angelou, Faith Ringgold, Chuck Close, John Shearer, Purchase alumnus Fred Wilson, and many others. Scroll down to see some of the posters and programs from past events that we found in the archives.

The talk starts tomorrow at 6:30pm on Zoom. It should be interesting. Please join us.
