backstory: Impact

I’m always so proud of the ways in which the Neuberger features so importantly in the work of Purchase College. A key component in then Governor Nelson Rockefeller’s vision for the Fine and Performing Arts campus of the SUNY system, the Neuberger has sat at the heart of the College since its founding in 1969.
You might not realize it but we are not only a teaching museum, but we are also an academic unit of the College, like the Humanities or Music. In that role, we receive state funding for our operational and administrative costs, but its the support we receive from private donors that makes possible the inspiring exhibitions and engaging programs we present each year. And those projects help us make a big impact on our campus and in our community. That support is detailed in this year’s Purchase College Impact Report. It is a wonderful opportunity to see the great work that is being made possible with the support of our donors and I’m so pleased to be able to share it with you.
