Rehab. of Museum’s Southwest Courtyard
Project Updates as of May 2, 2022
We have awarded the construction contract to AMR General Construction, Inc. They have completed their interior prep work and the outside exterior courtyard wall has been removed. Additionally, they have also remove the courtyard pavers and provided a weather-tight protective membrane in the courtyard. New lightweight concrete was recently poured, and once the outside temperature raises, they will continue with new waterproofing and re-installing the courtyard pavers. Our current schedule shows us completing work around the end of August, due to supply delays in getting new pavers.
Project Overview
The Neuberger Museum of Art’s southwest exterior brick courtyard has suffered from a number of leaks from the courtyard’s two drains, and another drain located in a planter along the courtyard’s west wall. These leaks are impacting the Museum’s spaces below, introducing moisture and causing deterioration.
Investigation of the drains have shown they were improperly installed and that corrective action is needed to address the issue.
