backstory: Home again

Most of what we display in our modern galleries are objects that were created by artists while they were working in the United States, but there are lots of other kinds of things in our collection.
A great example is a painting that just came home from having been on loan to the Neue Galerie in New York City, a fantastic painting by the artist Ernst Ludwig Kirchner. The Kirchner show, which some of our members and I Art Trek’d to see not long ago, was a beautiful exhibition in which our Kirchner looked fantastic among its peers. It’s on view here at the Neuberger now. If you missed it at Neue, I hope you come see it.
