backstory: The Two Staffs

In mid-December, the entire staff of the Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center at Vassar College came to visit with the staff of the Neuberger Museum of Art. Everyone from their director to their educators to their security guards came to see what we do and how we do it.
It was a great visit, starting with a tour of front- and back-of-house parts of the museum, then lunch, and then breakout sessions during which similarly engaged staff met to talk about their roles and their work. Such a great opportunity for both staffs to learn from each other, and we are so grateful to the Loeb for choosing the Neuberger for their field trip.

A great photo from the event (above) was of the Loeb’s “Philip and Lynn Straus Curator of Prints and Drawings” Patricia Phagan seated on a bench in our “Philip and Lynn Straus Center for Education in the Arts” at the Neuberger. Philip was a colleague of our founding patron, Roy R. Neuberger, at Neuberger Berman and Lynn is an alumna of Vassar. Both the Neuberger and the Loeb are grateful to the Straus family for their wonderful support of our institutions.
