Commons Apartment Complex P-Street Sprinkler Upgrades

Building upon the successful installation of sprinklers in the K-Street building, this project installed sprinklers in the P-Street building during the summer of 2019.

Project Overview

The Phase II residences, also known as “The Commons” or “The New”, is a wood-framed apartment complex located on the northwest side of the campus, built in the early 1980, featuring apartment-style living.  The complex is composed of four buildings, K-Street, M-Street, P-Street, and S-Street.  Following a fire in K-Street, the college began the process of installing new sprinklers in the complex.

The first building in the complex to have sprinklers installed was K-Street. Since the buildings are full occupied during the school year and partially occupied during the summer months, a phased approach to completing the work was determined the best way to upgrade the remaining buildings.  Installation of sprinklers in P-Street occurred in the summer of 2019.  By the end of the summer in 2020, the remaining buildings will have received sprinkler upgrades as well.
