Dormitories: Farside Bathroom Rehabilitation Project

 Project Overview

The original u-shaped student dormitories, designed by the architectural firm Gwathmey-Siegel, and referred to as Big Haus, Crossroads, and Farside have not had their originally design and built bathrooms upgraded since the buildings were constructed in the early seventies. These bathrooms do not meet the current code requirements for accessibility and suffer from leaks and failing fixtures.

The College is undertaking a multiple-phased rehabilitiation project to correct these difficiencies. The project scope includes complete renovations of the existing bathrooms and will include all new sinks, showers, toilets, floor, wall and ceiling finishes, and removal of any hazardous materials. Additionally, the project includes an overall abatement of hazardous materials in the building.

The first of these projects will focus on Farside. Due to the scope of the work involved, this project will be done only during the summer months to have the least impact on the students living in the dormitories.
