Students may be eligible to defer their acceptance for up to two semesters (a total of one year). However, students accepted for acting, creative writing, dance, film, music, theatre design/technology, or visual art programs, require express permission from the conservatory director to defer.  Permission is needed prior to completing the deferral contract.

Students who plan to enroll in coursework at another college or university will not be approved for a deferral. Instead, those students may choose to be considered as a transfer student for a future semester.

In order for your deferral request to be approved you must submit an enrollment deposit  and advise us of your future plans. Please submit your enrollment deposit online and complete the Deferral Contract prior to your enrollment deadline. 

Students can request a deferral no later than 30 days before the start of the semester.

Fall 2024 students cannot defer after July 28, 2024. 

Once you have completed the contract, the Office of Admission will let you know if your request has been approved via email within two weeks of your contract submission.
