You might not be new to college, but you’re new to Purchase and we couldn’t be happier!
There is an entire team of faculty and staff ready to assist in your transition to Purchase College. Whether that is to help you adjust to a new campus, navigate different buildings, or meet new people, we’re here! During your first few days at Purchase, there are some pretty important items for you to check off your “to-do list.”
Winter 2019 Transfer Orientation:
A Transfer and New Student Orientation Program will be held on Tuesday, January 22. Check-In begins at 11:30am, with the program beginning promptly at 1:00pm. This program will be held in the Music Building Lobby & Recital Hall and all transfers who will be commuting should be in attendance as well.
This program will include:
- Your transition to Purchase College
- Navigating Purchase and all of it’s auxiliary services
- Safety, security and Title IX information
- Opportunities to meet other new transfer students

Resident Student Move-In Procedures
Resident students will be able to move into their respective housing placements on Tuesday, January 22nd from 8:00-11:30am, prior to Orientation. All resident students will receive additional information from The Office of Community Engagement regarding moving in to their housing assignment on this day.
Commuter Student Attendance
All commuter students are encouraged to come to campus before the Orientation program in order to “take care of business” or visit any campus offices. For a full list of offices, their locations, and hours, please visit the Purchase College website.

We even have have an entire living community dedicated to transfer students!
The transfer community is intentionally designed to create an environment that is inclusive, academically focused, and looks to bridge the connections between the students and the Purchase community. We even have specific resident assistants (RAs) who work closely with the Orientation program and create targeted programs for transfer students.
