Health Promotion Internships
On-campus undergraduate internships for 4 credit hours a semester!
Health Promotion interns are an essential part of the Counseling and Behavioral Health Services department at Purchase. There are two different internship tracks to choose from. Interns meet for weekly class time and create peer programming to enhance health and wellbeing in the Purchase campus community. Interns will host after-hours creative programming for the Lighthouse Lounge.
Interns learn about and support Counseling Behavioral Health Services programming throughout the semester and assist each other as a team in their events, tabling, and final projects.
If you are interested in either of the two health promotion internships below, send an email to either Robbie Morell or Catherine VanBomel.
The Prevention & Well-Being Internship is a 4-credit, on campus internship. Interns will increase their knowledge regarding the top challenges to a college student’s health and well-being, and learn and promote strategies to manage these topics. Interns will develop and implement collaborative programs to support a health campus community.
This class will cover topics including interpersonal communication, leadership, health promotion, mindfulness skills, coping and avoidance behaviors, mental health, and substance use.
All students with 30 credits earned are welcome to apply!
