Lilith McCarthy

Lilith McCarthy is a Philosophy and Critical Thought major. She will be presenting her senior project, titled “The Political Situation of American Transgender Prisoners.” Lilith makes use of the works of Judith Butler and Angela Davis in order to argue that the legal separation of “sex” from “gender” is utilized within the American prison system for the purposes of increasing overall profit for the U.S. government at the expense of the safety and wellbeing of transgender prisoners.
