Rachael Girsang

Rachael Girsang (she/her) is a Communications major and Arts Management minor. Her capstone, titled “Between Grief and Giggles,” explores how the expression of dark humor and grief on social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram has helped Gen Z cope with the loss of a parent, both psychologically and socially. The project highlights how humor can become a coping tool in difficult life experiences, and how it’s okay to find moments of laughter even in the middle of grief.
