Pattie Jane Allen

Pattie Jane Allen is an Art History major. She will be presenting her senior project, titled “The Heart in Art & the Self.” Her project traces how the heart is depicted in the early modern period as both a literal and symbolic form across religious and anatomical contexts. She examines the drive to give form to what is internal, exploring how artists attempt to make the unseen visible. In doing so, the heart emerges as a site of tension between anatomy, belief, and personal identity.
