Josiah Acheampong ’25

Josiah Acheampong ’25 (Journalism) is the weekend weather forecaster/reporter at the ABC affiliate in Amarillo, TX.

While a student at Purchase, he completed two key internships that led to his successful career outcome. 

He first served as a Weather and Climate intern at NBC News, working alongside veteran weatherman Al Roker from January to April 2023.

His second internship was with ABC News Live’s Weather Team in 2024.

Serendipitously, his last interview before landing the ABC spot was conducted by Kyle McKenzie ’13 (Journalism), coordinating producer for ABC News Live.
