Stephen Jumper ’09

Stephen Jumper ’09, MD, MS, is a family medicine physician at Dartmouth Health’s New London Hospital in New London, NH.

Jumper transferred to Purchase to complete his bachelor’s degree and chose to merge studies in environmental science and video production through the BALA degree. The individualized program of study allowed him to fuse his passions for the outdoors, science, and filmmaking.

After a brief stint in expedition film production for National Geographic and others, and then as an artisan handcrafting surfboards engineered specifically for New York style waves, he returned to Purchase as a visiting student to take the prerequisites for medical school. 

Jumper received his MD from Tulane University in New Orleans and completed his residency at Philadelphia’s Drexel University College of Medicine.
