Marihana Heloany Reis

Marihana Heloany Reis is a double major in Latin American, Caribbean, and Latinx Studies and Political Science, with a minor in History. She will be presenting her oral history project alongside colleague Manuela Mares titled, “From Brazil to Port Chester: Oral Histories of Brazilian Women Navigating Immigration, Work, and Faith.” Part of the VOCES: Oral Histories and Spanish for Heritage Speakers initiative, their project documents the lives of three Brazilian women in Port Chester, capturing their migration journeys, connections to Pentecostal church communities, and experiences navigating work in the service sector and identity in the U.S.
