Misty Yarnall ’22

Misty Yarnall is a writer, editor, and teaching artist.

Yarnall recently presented on stage My Medea, her rewriting of the Greek myth Medea  with a 21st century twist. In this new version, she tackled body autonomy in the wake of the overturning of Roe V. Wade using real stories of Rochester residents. Read more at foxrochester.com.

Yarnall is is the Administrative and Communications Coordinator, and the Youth Programs Coordinator for the Hudson Valley Writers Center, originally serving as a facilitator and instructor for the Writers Express youth summer workshop series before  joining the administrative team.

A member of the Teaching Artist Institute of Rochester, Yarnall has led workshops at a variety of nonprofits, including the Hudson Valley Writers Center, Writers & Books, The Howard County Arts Council, The REV Theatre Company, The Bedford Hills Free Library, and Best Buddies.

For her senior project, Yarnall wrote a novella, titled Green Light, examining a hypothetical cure for Alzheimer’s Disease.
