Carly Sorenson ’20
Carly Sorenson ’20 is an instructor and registration assistant at Writopia Lab, a nonprofit organization in New York City that runs creative writing workshops and camps for kids and teens, where she once took workshops herself.
She has published several short stories in literary magazines and has written blog content for the Love Wins Food Pantry in Jackson Heights. In her spare time, she creates textile art.
At Purchase, Sorenson was the editor of Italics Mine, the literary magazine, and the founder and president of the Writers Club. She earned the Ginny Wray Senior Prize in Fiction and also competed in women’s cross country.
Originally from Queens, NY, Sorenson speaks, writes, and reads fluent Spanish after participating in a dual-language program in her public school.
