Art+Design: Academy of Fine Arts Vienna
Students wishing to study at Academy of Fine Arts Vienna need to first be nominated by the School of Art+Design.
As Austria’s most traditional art university, the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna has been an important educational institution for artists for over 325 years. The strength of the Academy lies, among other things, in its teachers’ international reputation and the internationality of its students, who come to Vienna from over fifty countries with varied artistic biographies.
In this unique exchange program, a group of art students hand-picked from 14 different partner schools around the world, come together for a semester to live and learn and make art together.
The academic experience will focus on an intensive studio course in the student’s area of expertise. Additional courses in artistic theory and technical courses are available. Students are also encouraged to take a German language course to support cultural immersion and engagement. Courses are taught in English.
Participating exchange students are awarded a scholarship that covers the cost of housing in Vienna in the OEAD shared student housing building. Students will have a single bedroom in a shared four-bedroom apartment that includes a bathroom and kitchenette. The apartment, including the bedrooms are furnished.
