Benjamin Hoyer

Ben Hoyer is a philosophy major. He will be presenting his senior project, ”E pluribus pluribus: Arendt and Berlin on pluralism.” Hannah Arendt and Isaiah Berlin were two of the most prominent political theorists of the 20th century. Both wrote extensively on pluralism, but each arrived at their own concept of pluralism following quite different routes. This paper explores the origins, development, and consequences of their respective versions of political pluralism, and how they might profitably be read together.
