Katelyn Diaz

Katelyn Diaz is a Journalism and Literature double major. She will presenting her senior project titled, “Second-Hand Becomes First: The Complex Ethics Behind Thrifting” This project explores the implications of environmental racism as it connects to the second-hand industry and its popularity among the younger generation. Katelyn made it a point to speak to those who thrift for different reasons, from financial instability to practicing sustainability, while also looking at thrifting’s history in order to explore the debate on ‘who should be thrifting and is this hurting the low income?’
